Issue Position: Public Employee Retirement System

Issue Position

Secondly, the Public Employee Retirement System known as P.E.R.S, should be managed by the 10 member committee responsible for the funds management, growth, and dispersements. Some lawmakers have attempted to manipulate the Fund and limit its capacity to meet the needs of our retired civil servants.

Most people realize and should consider that state employees pay and have paid for many years into the program and have earned the ability to access the full benefits of the program. As long as the Fund is solvent and stable, I do not support any manipulation or adjustments to the Fund.
